Job Summary:

The purpose of this position is to provide administrative management services to the Naval Health Research Center (NHRC) in San Diego, CA.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage overall program effort and serve as the primary point of contact with the COR.
  • Oversee and manage onsite contractor personnel.
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties, such as make copies, manage mail, scan and file documents, maintain records.
  • Prepare a variety of correspondence, forms, reports, and statistical material.
  • Enter a variety of data into spreadsheets and documents progress accordingly.
  • Perform records management services.
  • Schedule, facilitate, and organize meetings.
  • Provide administrative support related to military personnel administration (active duty pay, allowances and special pays, transfers and orders, overseas screening, fitness reports, and military leave program.)
  • Coordinate and maintain the command's Activity Manning Document (AMD).
  • Draft plans, policies, and procedures for the local Records Management Program and Forms Management Program for Government approval.
  • Assist in training personnel who are responsible for creating, accumulating, or maintaining records and personnel who create, use, and maintain forms.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must possess a BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Active Secret clearance is required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience in a supervisory role or team management position.
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience within military medical R&D activities or the military.
  • Ability to delegate tasks and set deadlines.
  • Ensure that the project team performance consistently meets or exceeds the established customer satisfaction benchmarks.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication. Comprehensive knowledge of DoD correspondence, including, but not limited to: DoN Correspondence Manual, Standard Subject Identification Codes, and OPNAV Administrative Manual.
  • Proficiency in operating a desktop computer, printer, scanner, facsimile, and other office-related equipment. Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Work Setting and Environment:

  • Monday through Friday, normal business hours.
  • San Diego, CA.
  • On-site federal contractors, in federal buildings or on federal lands must comply with CDC guidelines with respect to wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and other public health measures.
