Job Summary:

The Business Acquisitions Specialist will assist the United States Space Force (USSF) Space & Missile Systems Center (SMC) Remote Sensing Operations and Sustainment Division (ECPR) Business Operations Branch in the development of strategic guidance and repeatable processes. The Business Acquisitions Specialist will assist in the management and facilitation of acquisition procedures and policies that support effective and efficient contract management. The Business Acquisitions Specialist will also assist in the development of contract management solutions in support of effective contract management and seamless processes and workflows.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Establish processes, protocols, and postures in support of repeatable requirements, change order management, and contract life cycle actions.
  • Assist with the development of standards and the analysis of best practices and lessons learned.
  • Devise strategies for developing and building acquisition business processes.
  • Establish and implement process improvements.
  • Develop acquisition templates in support of streamlined procurements.
  • Assist in the development of program management, budget, and requirement management processes.
  • Develop and maintain process training, documentation, and templates.
  • Assist USSF SMC ECPR in building documentation packages and reports and filing documentation.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a similar area of study.
  • Experience managing logistics acquisition programs throughout the acquisition life cycle, from development to disposition.
  • The ability to provide expert leadership, direction, and guidance while exercising independent professional, technical, and managerial skills and judgment.
  • Professional knowledge of a wide range of federal contracting laws, regulations, policies, principles, procedures, methods, techniques, practices, and contract types applicable to pre-award and post-award actions for a variety of complex contracts.
  • Ability to conduct market research.
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools used in risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
  • Knowledge of contract administration principles, policies, procedures, and technical requirements.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to establish performance goals, develop concrete action plans, and assess progress toward the achievement of the goals.
  • Ability to adjust work operations and program objectives to accommodate emergencies or changes in program requirements while continuing to work within the available resources and with minimum sacrifice in the quality of work.
  • Ability to communicate (both orally and in writing) clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.
  • Ability to identify problems, assess the accuracy and relevance of information, use sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and make recommendations.

Work Setting and Environment:

  • Monday through Friday, 9 am 5 pm Mountain Time.
  • Office is located in Colorado Springs, CO.
  • Telework is authorized, though the privilege to telework may be revoked if the government deems it necessary.
  • On-site federal contractors, in federal buildings or on federal lands must comply with CDC guidelines with respect to wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and other public health measures.
