Job Summary:

The purpose of this position is to provide a modern vision, overseeing the creation of fresh, engaging, and entertaining video and multimedia content that pushes creative boundaries, delivers on strategic goals, and drives brand awareness. The Creative Manager will visualize, define, and develop FedWriters promotional content and government-related content on key topics, derived from interviewing stakeholders, industry leaders, subject matter experts, and government officials to create content on FedWriters' programs and a wide range of government topics.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage the conceptualization, writing, and production of sharable video content for platforms including FedWriters' website, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other professional media outlets.
  • Grow brand awareness by creating a library of short videos on government programs and FedWriters' capabilities.
  • Be a brand champion, maintaining the brand "look and feel" across all projects and platforms.
  • Lead creative brainstorms for content refreshes and tentpole campaigns.
  • Provide direction to ensure visual and editorial approaches are unified to develop innovative and artistic solutions to elevate content.
  • Produce videos in a creative yet branded way to create and support a consistent voice for target audiences.
  • Ensure videos and other multimedia are delivered on time and on budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Manage, grow, and mentor direct reports; foster a work environment that is conducive to creative development.
  • Manage a small team of freelancers, internal graphic designers, scriptwriters, and editors in all phases of creation.
  • Oversee all brand and logo management and video marketing collateral.
  • Provide editorial and visual guidance in alignment with industry best practices for digital marketing and communications.
  • Direct and oversee third-party vendors.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in directing and/or creating video content.
  • Proven ability to create and direct high-quality campaign and creative content.
  • Experience in a quick-moving and cross-functional-focused environment.
  • Experience working directly with talent, support staff, and creators to collaborate cross-functionally on integrated campaigns.
  • Extensive knowledge of brand promotions and working within established brand guidelines.
  • Understanding of today's media landscape and how people engage with advertising.
  • Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver video content that meets brand standards and guidelines.
  • Ability to budget, plan, and delegate tasks.
  • Experience managing multiple projects in parallel.

  • A general passion and interest in film and meeting new people and telling their stories.
  • An engaging, upbeat personality that puts people at ease when in front of the camera.
  • Experience with lighting and audio capture in diverse environments.
  • Excellent video editing skills, including experience with Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, or related editing software suites.
  • Excellent interviewing skills, including the ability to draft questions and pivot in the moment as an interview demands.
  • A technical command of video, audio, and lighting equipment used to produce high-quality videos.
  • Ability to create a script outline to tell a brand story and bring to life through video footage.

Work Setting and Environment:

  • Monday through Friday.
  • Work to be performed remotely.
  • On-site federal contractors, in federal buildings or on federal lands must comply with CDC guidelines with respect to wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and other public health measures.
