Job Summary:

The purpose of this position is to provide administrative assistance and support services to support the day-to-day operations of the Weather Program Office (WPO) National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide high-level administrative support by conducting research, preparing statistical reports, and handling information requests.
  • Perform routine administrative functions, such as, manage calendar, prepare correspondence, receive visitors, arrange conference calls, and schedule meetings.
  • Process employee onboarding and offboarding actions.
  • Process and manage supplies purchase requests.
  • Organize and manage data, internal files, and records.
  • Work with direction on analysis assignments; identify potential problems and solutions through data analysis, reduction, and entry.
  • Provide technical assistance to project leaders and program managers.
  • Serve as a technical assistant to other staff members.
  • Calendar support of the Office Director at the Executive level
  • Track training for the office employees
  • Property tracking
  • Weather modification and other inbox tracking
  • Grants management tracking
  • Meeting support for internal and external meetings to include agenda development, logistics, organization
  • Manage internal websites with accurate and current information

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • BA/BS in an analytic discipline or closely related field (e.g., statistics, economics, accounting). Master's degree or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of full-time experience in an analytic discipline.
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Project management skills as well as advanced spreadsheet, presentations, google forms and SmartSheets experience

Work Setting and Environment:

  • Monday through Friday, 8 hour day between 8:00am - 5:00pm.
  • Remote until further notice. Onsite location: Silver Spring, MD.
  • On-site federal contractors, in federal buildings or on federal lands must comply with CDC guidelines with respect to wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and other public health measures.
