Job Title: Docket Center Support Specialist

Job Summary:

The purpose of this position is to support the General Services Administration (GSA) Office of Government-wide Policy (OGP) Docket Center enhanced processing services for Federal Docket Management System (FDMS) agency users and non-partner agencies. FDMS is a web-based application that provides a universal access point for public participation in the federal regulatory process through the Regulations.gov website.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Create and manage dockets in FDMS
    • Monitor FDMS for new Federal Register (FR) documents
    • Creating new dockets to move FR documents to the appropriate docket
    • Uploading related documents, such as supporting and related materials and public submissions
  • Reviewing and editing metadata for spelling and grammar
  • Picking up physical comment submissions from Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling; scanning the comments at the FedWriters office in Fairfax, VA; and returning them to the base on a quarterly basis
  • Creating and contributing to monthly reports

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ability to obtain a GSA Public Trust clearance
  • The ability to travel to Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (Washington, DC) and the FedWriters corporate office (Fairfax, VA) on a quarterly basis
  • High school diploma
  • At least 1 year of docket experience
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of correct grammar, punctuation, syntax, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel)
  • Proficiency in docket/comment management system or database


  • Prior experience with FDMS
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Between 2 - 4 years of docket experience

Work Setting and Environment:

  • Monday - Friday, options for full-time or part-time work, depending on your availability
  • Work is to be performed remotely with travel to Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (Washington, DC) and the FedWriters corporate office (Fairfax, VA) on a quarterly basis
  • On-site federal contractors, in federal buildings or on federal lands must comply with CDC guidelines with respect to wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and other public health measures
